Recovery from an Unhealthy Relationship
You have been struggling for a long time and perpetually feeling as if your needs and desires aren't important to people close to you. You have noticed that your relationships are very one-sided. You have been giving and other people have been taking. When you have set a boundary or ask for something you need in the relationship your requests are ignored and you get the silent treatment. When you ask for what you need everything turns into your fault. When you try to gently confront her about something she did that hurt you, you don't feel heard. These signs that something is wrong! Hidden emotional and psychological abuse may be the source of these feelings.
The emotional turmoil and heartbreak you feel becomes grief as you make sense of what you have been experiencing in your closest relationships. You find yourself worrying incessantly about a relationship, how a person will respond to you, or how to reconnect with a loved one.
